Home based care is best for babies and toddlers. One caregiver, one home – more settled children, better sleep, better routines, less sickness and more flexible options for parents.
Home based care is the fastest growing childcare type in New Zealand. It is widely recognised overseas that to have early childhood education with one or two stable carers in a nurturing environment provides huge benefits to a child’s early development.
Children do best when they feel comfortable in their environment. Selwyn Kids strives to have the best Educator for your child in homes where learning is nurtured and encouraged with individual planning.
Children are taken on regular outings and playgroups linked to children's individual learning goals. These assist learning about the world around us and normal daily life skills not always available to children in a daycare environment.
All Educators have current First Aid Certificates, have passed a stringent Police Check and their homes have been checked for safety and quality for childcare.
Each Educator has no more than four children in their care under the age of 5 years. The bond that children form with their Educator is close and strong and it is strongly recognised by child specialists that this is best for preschool childrens' confidence and wellbeing and therefore brain development for the future.
All Educators are visited by our Co-ordinators (Registered Early Childhood Teacher) at least once a month. Our Co-ordinator ensures the upkeep of all standards and helps our Educators to provide programmes specifically tailored to your child.
Each child receives a quality learning journal with stories, photos, learning achievements, art work and special events in their life for the family to keep.
Please contact Sarah Perkins so that we can introduce your family to the nearest and most suitable Educator.
